Secrets of the shore

12 July 10.00am

Mumbles Rd, Blackpill (grass by the lido), Swansea SA3 5AS

Come and explore the hidden wonders of the strandline with us! As the tides retreat, they leave behind fascinating clues about the mysterious marine life living in the deeper waters of Swansea Bay and the Gower Peninsula.

Guided by experienced marine biologists, you'll become a marine scientist for the day—searching for cuttlefish eggs, mermaid’s purses, colourful seaweeds and a whole variety of beautiful seashells. Along the way, we’ll also investigate microplastics and their potential impact on local wildlife.
All findings will be recorded and submitted to national citizen science projects, helping us better understand our marine environment.

Whether you're curious about marine life or passionate about protecting our oceans, this is a perfect event for all ages - so come along and dive into nature!

  • All children are welcome - they must come along with a responsible adult
  • Bring plenty of layers to keep warm as well as sun-scream and sun hat
