BIS Recording Day Crai, Breconshire
9th July 10:30 – 16:00
This event in Wales Nature Week forms part of the National Forest – Restoring Riparian Corridors in the Crai Valley project, managed by the Brecon Beacons Local Nature Partnership in collaboration with BIS, the Wye & Usk Foundation, Stump Up for Trees and the Woodland Trust. The project aims to enhance riparian habitats through woodland, hedgerow and shelterbelt creation, strengthening wildlife corridors, improving water quality and supporting biodiversity across the valley.
This recording day will focus on a varied but under-recorded farm within the project area. The farm has not been ploughed or fertilised for many years and supports a range of habitats, including recently felled conifer plantation (as part of project works), shelterbelts, wet flushes, riparian corridors, stone walls and access to upland areas.
