Nature in Flintshire
Flintshire is a county of contrasts. Sandwiched between the rural counties to the west of the Clwydian range and the more developed areas of Cheshire and Merseyside, land use varies from intensive industrial development through to remote and wild areas. Over the past few decades, the area of Flintshire has undergone significant transformation. The impact of development from agriculture, housing and mineral extraction is significant, yet Flintshire still retains many areas that are of importance for wildlife, within both urban and rural areas.
The Flintshire Biodiversity Partnership comprises a steering group that oversees the LBAP process.
