Join Nature on Your Doorstep for a hands-on pond dipping session at Crwys Community Woodland, exploring the fascinating world beneath the water's surface during Wales Nature Week.

In this relaxed session, you'll use nets and trays to gently discover the creatures living in the woodland pond, from larvae and water beetles to possibly even a shy newt. Perfect for children, families and anyone curious about nature, it's a chance to learn about pond habitats, get closer to freshwater wildlife, and build confidence in searching for and identifying what you find.

  • Children must be accompanied by an adult (recommended age 5+)
  • Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear, as the ground may be uneven or muddy
  • We recommend bringing water and sun protection if the weather is warm
  • Weather dependent
