Nature Knowledge Share and Bioblitz Machynlleth

Nature Knowledge Share + Bioblitz

4th July 08:00 – 14:00

On Saturday the 4th of July we invite anyone interested in nature, wildlife, ecology, or anything in between to join us at Bwlch Corog for a day of sharing knowledge.

For the early risers, we’ll be starting at 8 am with a guided bird walk led by Ben Porter, Nature Officer at Tir Canol, and his amazing parabolic microphone. We’ll need to know how many people to expect for this early morning walk, so if you’re planning to join please let us know by emailing us at post@coetiranian.org. Diolch!

For those of us who prefer a lie-in, we’ll start the main part of the day at 10 am with hot drinks and cake around the fire, and an introduction to wildlife recording – the important process of recording what species are present in different areas – with Carys of West Wales Biodiversity Information Centre.

Then, we’ll head off and visit different parts of the land, led by staff and local expert ecologists, recording any interesting species we find as we go, and learning from each other’s specialisms and interests.
