Butterfly & Moth Surveying Training Cardiff

Come and celebrate Wales Nature Week with us while discovering the colourful pollinators that thrive in our green spaces. 🦋🌼
Join us for a friendly guided walk to discover butterflies and day-flying moths. Learn how to identify different species, why they are important for healthy habitats, and how you can help conservation by recording wildlife.

This session will also prepare you to take part in the Big Butterfly Count (17 July–9 August), the UK's largest butterfly and day-flying moth survey. You'll learn simple identification and survey skills that help collect valuable data for conservation.

Whether you're interested in nature, ecology, or simply want to learn more about local wildlife, this is a great opportunity to get outdoors and build new skills. No experience is needed, just bring your curiosity and suitable outdoor clothing.

Open to Cardiff University staff, students and members of the local community.
