Creating a Breathing Space

Breathing Places is a major BBC Learning campaign to inspire and motivate you to create and care for nature-friendly green spaces where you live. Check out the ‘Do One Thing’ activities highlighting simple, easy to do things that really can make a big difference for wildlife. By doing just one simple thing, we'd be making a big difference together.

Swansea became a BBC Breathing City in June 2007 with the highly successful Springwatch Festival and in June 2008, the BBC Wales team along with the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales and the City & County of Swansea recently developed a grassed area around the Gendros Community Centre in Swansea - a future haven for both the wildlife and people of Gendros. A team of enthusiastic local volunteers and experts spent two days transforming their patch into an attractive wildlife garden during Wales Biodiversity Week 2008.
